In the ever-evolving landscape of knowledge transfer, data doesn’t just tell a story—it defines direction. With that spirit, ASTP is proud to release the Executive Data Report for Financial Year 2022, presenting insights from 482 Knowledge Transfer Offices (KTOs) across 23 European countries.
This latest edition of ASTP’s annual survey offers more than just numbers. It captures the resilience, growth, and increasing strategic relevance of knowledge transfer in shaping Europe’s innovation ecosystem. From industry collaborations and IP commercialisation to spin-off creation and research impact, the data shines a light on the vital role KTOs play at the interface of academia and society.

By offering this data freely to the community, ASTP continues to champion transparency, alignment, and evidence-based decision-making in the European knowledge transfer landscape.
“These insights are only possible thanks to the consistent, valuable participation of our members,” say Sandra Aresta and Olivier Gillieaux, Co-chairs of ASTP’s Metrics and Impact Committee, which led the survey with dedication and rigour. “We invite even more KTOs to contribute to future surveys—together, we build the map by which we all navigate.”
